Cost Competitiveness (Fiscal Policy)

In an effort to gauge the business tax climate in Massachusetts compared with its chief competitor states, the Mass High Tech Council is producing a State Tax Competitiveness Study.

This high level analysis of corporate tax rates and other business costs compares Massachusetts with key competitor states including: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia. 

Under the leadership of KPMG, the Cost Competitiveness Team will revise and sustain annual updates to the MHTC State Tax Competitiveness Study (first produced in 2008); analyze data and identify top policy priorities; identify and draft legislative proposals; and execute a policy strategy in accordance with the selected competitivenss priorities.
