Health Care

Massachusetts High Technology Council works closely with state and federal government to help strike a balance between health care needs of employees and their families while not allowing business health care costs to spiral out of control.

Our 2008 health care objectives include:

  • Work to create a positive agenda to grow the state’s biopharma industry, while opposing policies that undermine it (drug importation, price controls)  
  • Support reforms to state and federal medical malpractice systems
  • Prevent increased employer assessment to fund uncompensated care pool

Since early 2005, the Council has worked with legislative leaders, the Administration, employers, and the health care community to bring about true health care reform in Massachusetts. Below are selected communications, newsletters, and press stories on the Council's efforts:
